Anne came to us with uncontrolled dental disease which included life long problems with decay, periodontal disease and a bite that was causing her to break back teeth. She had spent a great deal of time in various dentist's chairs but had never been able to slow the destruction of her teeth and her self esteem.

We started with an aggressive program to control the periodontal disease and replaced all of her failing amalgams and composite fillings with bonded-porcelain restorations. The day after we placed her new restorations, Anne came by the office with a renewed attitude of vigor and self-confidence. She suddenly loved her own smile and became even more motivated to take extra special care of her new found asset. Anne is a perfect example of how aesthetic dentistry is not just about looks but about good health.

My ‘new smile’ has made a dramatic difference in my life. I never fully realized just how self-conscious I was of my teeth and how this caused me to hold back smiles. Looking at the ‘before and after’ pictures – I still can’t believe the difference! People are always coming up and complimenting me on my smile now. Annett is a young woman who has an outgoing and pleasant personality. She is involved with marketing and desired a more sophisticated smile which would project an image of confidence. This would be an asset for her in her professional career.

This case is state-of-the-art conservative aesthetic dentistry that artistically enhanced what nature had given her. We recontoured the two upper front teeth, placed composite bonding on the right eyetooth and lateral incisors, plus whitened her smile. I had always planned on improving my smile at some point in my life. When I finally decided to go for it, friends and family discouraged it, saying that my front teeth were what made me me. Bill

Dr. Bill Blatchford is a dentist who was in private practice for many years. For the last several years he has coached dentists worldwide on effectively and happily running the business of dentistry.

Dr. Blatchford had numerous old restorations in his mouth placed at various times in his life. These included gold onlays in his back teeth that were visible when he laughed. He became increasingly aware that the shape of his front teeth were changing from wear and his bite was shifting. We showed Dr. Blatchford what his changes would look like in a cosmetic preview and reviewed what the functional changes would be. Cheryl came to us with short, crowded, stained and chipped teeth. She had been told in the past that the only thing that could be done was to repair things as they broke down. After listening to Cheryl's desires and evaluating her bite we decided to restore her whole mouth with porcelain-bonded restorations. It was the best way to give her back the function that had been slowly eroding away over the years.

Aesthetically, Cheryl's results were excellent, with her choosing to make her teeth much lighter than they were before. For the first time in her life she wanted to smile.

I've always been self-conscious about my teeth and gums. I hated having my picture taken. I can't believe what a difference the full mouth restoration and laser gum surgery made!
